  • Pop singer Belinda is sharing her songwriting talent and reaching out to mainstream artists. Her main target: rap superstar Nicki Minaj.

In an interview with Mexican newspaper El Universal, she said she gave her all in writing the song "Mister Sweet Face," which was inspired by Nicki Minaj. She says there is nothing she would like more than to have Nicki make the song her own.

"I haven't had the chance to contact her yet, but it would be an honor if she sang the song," said Belinda.

Belinda is taking her role as a songwriter very seriously, hinting that there are U.S. artists who would like to work with her.

"There are a few singers in the U.S. that are interested in my songs, I can't say any names, but once it's official I will let you know. I have a ton of songs that didn't fit in my album and they're up for grabs," said the singer.

The pop star explained that she is also enjoying working behind the scenes on her projects, like her new video for "En el amor hay que pardoner," which she helped produce.

"I love directing the production, I dedicated everything to this video, I edited it. I love this role… I hope to direct and edit the videos of other artists in the future. It's one of my biggest passions, like composing," she said.

The video production wrapped up in two days and is a single from her new album "Catarsis" which will be released September 25.
