Gael García Bernal in Favor of Marijuana

• Drug legalization may be a very controversial topic, but Mexican actor Gael García Bernal has voiced his support for legalizing marijuana in Mexico.

  "I think marijuana is absolutely necessary, and I emphasize only marijuana because it's important to decriminalize it and legalize it as soon as possible," the actor told El Universal. "I think this is very important to do and eliminate myths that exist regarding marijuana."

  Gael added that he bases his strong opinion in favor of the drug on scientific research. He says that legalizing marijuana could decrease drug trafficking and build a better relationship with the U.S. now that marijuana has been legalized in some U.S. states.
